Short answer: Google finds a new website mainly through links to it, so put your website link in your social bios and directory profiles, use exactly the same working name everywhere, and make sure your site has a clear title, description and a few paragraphs of useful text mentioning your city. Expect searches for your working name to work within weeks, and broader searches to take months. Nobody can honestly guarantee first place.
A new website starts invisible. Google doesn't know it exists until something points to it, and doesn't trust it until it has seen it around for a while. This guide explains how that works and what actually helps.
How Google finds a new website
Google discovers pages by following links from pages it already knows. For a brand-new site, those first links usually come from:
- Your social media bios
- Your directory profiles, where the directory allows a website link
- Your messaging app profiles and link-in-bio pages
- Any other site that mentions you with a link
Every link is both a way for people to reach you and a signpost for search engines. A website no one links to can take a long time to be found at all.
What to expect, and when
| Search | Example | Realistic timing |
|---|---|---|
| Your domain | yournamelondon.com | Days to a couple of weeks after your site is first found |
| Your working name | "Yourname London escort" | A few weeks, if your name is used consistently and linked |
| Broad searches | "escort London" | Months, and big directories usually rank first |
This is why searches for your own name matter most. They come from people who already know about you, often from a directory or social profile, and are ready to get in touch. Your own site is the natural result for that search.
Seven things that actually help
1. Link to your site from everywhere you appear
Add your website to every social bio and every directory profile that allows it. This is the single biggest thing you can do in the first weeks.
2. Use exactly the same working name everywhere
Same spelling, same spacing, same capital letters, on your website, profiles and messaging apps. Google connects mentions of a name. Variations split them up.
3. Have a clear page title and description
The title and description are what Google shows in search results. They should include your working name and your city, written for people rather than stuffed with keywords. For example: "Yourname: elegant companion in central Manchester". Every Bijou Page site has a title and description set for you, plus a sitemap and a share image.
4. Write a few paragraphs of real text
Google reads words, not photos. A site that is only images gives it very little to understand. Three or four short paragraphs about you, mentioning your city or area naturally and the languages you speak, give search engines something to work with. Write for people first. If it reads well, it will work.
5. Describe your photos
A short description for each photo, such as "Yourname in a black evening dress", helps people using screen readers and helps search engines understand your images. See escort website photos.
6. Be fast on phones
Google ranks pages using how they work on a phone. Slow, heavy pages are pushed down. Keep photo files reasonable (Bijou Page resizes them for you), and avoid video backgrounds and heavy add-ons.
7. Keep it up to date
Fresh photos and correct details show visitors, and search engines, that the site is active. A site that hasn't changed in years looks abandoned.
Things to avoid
- Buying links or joining link-swap schemes. Google penalises them, and recovering can take a long time.
- Keyword stuffing. Repeating "escort London escort London" in your text makes it worse, not better.
- Copying text from other sites or your directory profile word for word. Write fresh text for your site.
- Changing your domain or working name often. Each change throws away what you've built.
- Anyone who promises first place on Google. Nobody can guarantee it, and the ones who promise usually use the shortcuts above.
Should you use Google Search Console?
Google Search Console is a free tool that shows which searches your site appears for, and lets you ask Google to look at your site. It's useful if you like data, but it isn't required. If your site is linked from your profiles, Google will find it. If you do set it up, remember the account is tied to an email address, so use your work email.
Search for yourself every month
Once a month, search your working name, with and without your city, and your domain. Check:
- Does your site appear, and does the title and description look right?
- Are your directory profiles showing next to it?
- Is anything there you didn't put there?
That last check also helps your privacy. See keeping your real name private.
A website and directories work together
For broad searches like a city name, large directories will usually rank above a personal site. That's fine. Clients find you on a directory, then search your name or click through to your website. Your site is where they decide. Our guide to your own website vs a directory profile explains how to make the two work together.
Search basics, included
Every Bijou Page site includes the search basics: a page title and description, a sitemap, a share image for links on WhatsApp and X, HTTPS and a fast, mobile-first design, all on your own domain. See how it works, or read how to choose a domain name first.
